New 14 footer
Hi All
I have been lurking around here a bit and decided to come in from the cold or heat as I'm in Melbourne
I have been SUPing for about 6 months and love it I have a long windsurfing background so was not an issue getting started. Started off with a Sunova one which I love in the surf and when it's calm. However it has its limitations in the chop and doing distance, so looking at a 14 footer
After much research, indecision, procrastination, YouTube, English reviewers (which are quite good I must say) and marketing hype I have narrowed it down to either a SIC RS 14 28" or a Starboard All Star 14" 26". Although as indecisive as I am I could be convinced with a Naish Maliko
For some reason the big dugouts don't do much for me. They remind me of the opening sequence of Hawaii Five O from the 70's so I have flashbacks of "Book em Dano"
80% of the use will be in Port Phillip bay in Melbourne Oz which as the locals know varies quite a bit
I am mid 50's 110kgs (with not much chance of going below that again) so hence the high volume boards.
Any thought or ideas would be welcome
